When Alissa contacted me regarding a Trash the Dress Session, I could barely contain my excitement.. You may remember their amazing wedding from last year: Colorado Wedding Photography slideshow. We got together last week at the Evergreen Lake House (the same site as her wedding reception) for a spectacular session. For those of you not familiar with the concept of ‘Trash the Dress’ the idea is this: it’s an opportunity to get amazing bridal portrait photographs without having to worry about the state of the dress. So the session can be as extreme as the client likes – and in Alissa’s case she was pretty determined to get wet. So after playing around with various props (love her red cowboy boots!) she ventured into the water. I’ve been dying to post these, but since this was a surprise for her husband Josh, we’ve had to wait on the blog post until today, October 11th, when they celebrate their first anniversary. So Happy Anniversary, Alissa and Josh! My warmest wishes to you both as you celebrate your first anniversary!

These are incredible!!! What a wonderful idea. My dress is locked away in an heirloom box, going on 14 years. After two kids, I wonder if it would fit – these shots make we want to rip the seal and find out.

Absolutely wonderful…just like I knew they would be. I LOVED watching both of you work together and seeing how they turned out with the sky,the lighting, reflections and all the details combined. They make me emotional and ecstatic at the same time they enhance the wedding gown and all the love it represents!
